Microsoft have released this short, behind the scenes look at the making of Halo 4 to wet your appetites.
Opening with a CGI intro that is very akin to Promotheus, a USNC starship comissioned not for war but for the discovery of new planets crash lands on a world everyone’s favourite Spartan also happens to be on. A massive orb like ship appears and gives chase. First encountering the Covenant only to come across several types of AI creatures. The weaponry dropped by one is identified as Forerunner design.
Often rumoured, Master Chief will be duking out with a returning Forerunner threat in Halo 4.
Microsoft’s E3 press conference started with a bang and finished on a high note but what about in between? Kinect was definitely the theme of the day and not entirely unexpected as we’re only one year removed from it’s release. The good news is, if you own a Kinect than you have very exciting times ahead of you. If not, you might be a little disappointed by the Xbox offering.
In no particular order, things that we’ve already covered from Microsoft’s E3 press conference:
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 demo
- Tomb Raider reboot demo
- Dance Central 2
- Kinect Star Wars
- Fable The Journey
- Kinect support for EA Sports titles as well as Mass Effect 3
- Youtube, Bing Search, Voice commands and Premier TV services
- Gears of War 3 campaign demo with Cliff Bleszinki and rapper Ice T
- Halo 4: The beginning of a new Halo trilogy
- Minecraft to get a console port: Xbox 360 exclusive
That wasn’t all on display though and what we have to show is more Kinect, Kinect and Kinect stuff.
Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Future Soldier will incorporate Kinect gestures and voice commands. Things like Gun Smith allow players to make up to 20 million customised weapons.
Got kids and a kinect? Then Kinect Disneyland Adventures might just be up your alley. The game will allow players to explore Disneyland and play a whole host of mini-games based on the various Disney titles over the years, from Pirates of the Caribbean to Mickey Mouse, there’s plenty to see and do.
Kinect Sports: Season 2 is Microsoft’s competitor to the hugely successful Wii Sports titles for Nintendo Wii. The original Kinect Sports is the top selling Kinect title to date, so can Season 2 with new sports and better Kinect support make a similar or better impact?
Kinect Fun Labs brings a multitude of gadgets to all Xbox 360 members and is available RIGHT NOW for FREE on your Xbox 360 dashboard to download.
Microsoft closed its press conference at E3 with the first glimpse of Halo 4 — well, first if you ignore the accidental leak on Xbox.com earlier today.
The Master Chief appears to have a lot more life in him yet, as mention to a new trilogy was made before the teaser began to play.
The trailer featured Master Chief in stasis with someone calling “Wake up, John” and our hero waking up understandably groggy. He runs out of an exploding ship and sees a new disaster ahead of him ready to deal with.
