Warner Brothers has just announced the title Mortal Kombat Arcade collection that will be a downloadable title for PSN, Xbox Live Arcade and PC. Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection is set to feature the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 all combined into one convenient downloadable package when it arrives late in the Northern Hemisphere summer. It’s set to cost US$9.99 or 800 Microsoft points on Xbox Live.

The games won’t be simple ports either, as all three games will have online play and leaderboard capabilities. PDP, the creators of the official Mortal Kombat tournament stick, are going to release a new fighting stick just for this collection. It will be a Gamestop exclusive, retail at US$129.99 and feature a button configuration more along the lines of the arcade machines.

Is it too soon for yet another Mortal Kombat release given that Mortal Kombat 9 was only released last month or are you excited for this? I didn’t get Mortal Kombat 9 (fellow editor Faye did!) so I’m especially looking forward to this as I quite enjoyed the titles back in the day. As always, let us know in the comments below.
