You might be asking yourself, what does this all mean? Well, these days, you can’t surf the web without tripping over Facebook here or Twitter there. Both are social networking power houses (for differing reasons), so some clever people out there thought it might be a good idea to let people to connect to their own websites using Facebook or Twitter credentials (either new accounts, or linking to existing). I’m pleased to report that GamingHUD is now no longer any different. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while now and I’m happy to finally have it set up on the main site.
For some time now this functionality has been present on the GamingHUD forums, so I’ll give you a quick run down on how to get it set up over there first. Head over to the forums and log into your account. Once logged in, hit the ‘My Settings’ option on the tool bar. Click the Profile tab and you should see these two options; “Manage Facebook Connect” and “Manage Twitter Connect”. Follow the onscreen instructions to synchronize your accounts and Hey Presto, you’re done.
Right, that’s the forums done. On to this side shall we? Yes, I do believe so. Once you’ve logged in (if you aren’t already logged in at this point), click ‘Dashboard’. Click on your Profile and you’ll see ‘Facebook Connect’ and ‘Twitter Connect’. There will be icons to the right. Clicking them will take you to the Facebook or twitter login pages if you aren’t already signed into those services. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be redirected back to GamingHUD and your accounts are linked.
Sounds good right? New users can also register for accounts here using these services. Hopefully they make your lives a little, tiny bit easier while using the site. Enjoy.
